Dear Milan, your hint solved the problem. The backup could be restored via "tar -xzf" to a temporare directory without an error. I then copied the restored structure to the new (flatpak) location as you mentioned. In the file .config/evolution/sources/local.source I only had to modify one path to the new Maildir Backend.
