I have installed Evolution, Ver.1.0.2, as part of my SUSE Linux 8.0 distribution. I would like to upgrade to the latest release (found in Ximian's Web site). It says that I have to use the Red-Carpet tool.
My question is: do I have to uninstall the SUSE-originated program before installing the one I will download from Ximian (using Red-Carpet)? If I do have to uninstall, will the new Ximian version take over my existing mailbox directories structure (once installed)? If I do not uninstall the SUSE version, will the new Ximian version overwrite the SUSE one (which is actually what I want to accomplish) or will I end up having two separate / parallel versions of Evolution installed in my system? TIA. PS: By the way, I am really happy to say that this is a fine product, indeed. For the first time (over the last three years), judging from products like Ximian's, I feel confident that I can safely switch my team to Linux, while staying properly integrated into the MS-dominated environment of my company. -- Panos Platon Tsapralis, SAP-R/3 specialist, ABAP/4 developer, Registered Linux User #305894, Athens, GREECE, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? @yahoo.gr http://www.otenet.gr _______________________________________________ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
