It's failing because i once set a LD_BIND_NOW=yes, after unsetting LD_BIND_NOW the mailcomponents loads fine: ~ $ /home/gnome/bin/evolution-1.3 current config version is '1.3.0' Activating component 'OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent' Activating component 'OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_FolderInfo' camel-ERROR **: Could not open camel provider directory: No such file or directory aborting... Aborted (core dumped) The not found camel directory is probably because of installing in a different prefix.
