Possible explanations: - Corrupted copy on a mirror. Which mirror are you using? - Corrupted download that Red Carpet didn't notice. (in either of the two above cases, "rpm -K --nogpg /var/cache/redcarpet/packages/evolution1.3-1.3.1-0.ximian.3.i386.rpm" might be a useful diagnostic) - full disk that Red Carpet didn't notice, leading to a truncated package.
Removing any corrupt packages from /var/cache/redcarpet/packages would be a good idea. -Mark Gordon On Thu, 2003-03-13 at 13:16, Roberto Moral wrote: > Hello there, > > I am unable to install Evolution 1.3.1 from the Evolution Beta > channel, this is the error I get: > > warning: Expected size: 42493972 = > lead(96)+sigs(181)+pad(3)+data(42493692) > warning: Actual size: 28891681 > warning: Expected size: 42493972 = > lead(96)+sigs(181)+pad(3)+data(42493692) > warning: Actual size: 28891681 > warning: Expected size: 42493972 = > lead(96)+sigs(181)+pad(3)+data(42493692) > warning: Actual size: 28891681 > warning: Expected size: 42493972 = > lead(96)+sigs(181)+pad(3)+data(42493692) > warning: Actual size: 28891681 > error: unpacking of archive failed on file > /usr/lib/evolution/1.3/libcamel.so.0.0.0;3e70c00c: cpio: read > > I can however download it from the Evolution Development Snapshots, > altho that one SegFaults when I start it. > > > > Roberto Moral > SR.
