FWIW i just fixed this. I tried a few weeks ago but couldn't work out how, in the end it was trivial.

Hi all, I have observed something strange with Evolution 1.5 : sometimes the mail view "grabs the selection", that is if I had a gnome-terminal with some text selected, it's deselected, and next time I paste something with the middle mouse button, a whole mail it pasted including headers. I don't know exactely when this happens, it seems rather randomly for now (i.e. I didn't manage to find the exact cause). Surprise .. this just happened. The content of the last mail I read is now the primary buffer of X11 (I swear I didn't select that). Look at what happens when I press the middle mouse button: >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Apr 13 17:42:56 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Envelope-to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Delivery-date: Tue, 13 Apr 2004 17:42:57 +0200 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1] ident=root) by awak.dyndns.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 #1 (Debian)) id 1BDQ3s-00056h-00 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tue, 13 Apr 2004 17:42:56 +0200 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from pop.free.fr [212.27.42.13] by localhost with POP3 (fetchmail-5.9.11) for [EMAIL PROTECTED] (single-drop); Tue, 13 Apr 2004 17:42:56 +0200 (CEST) Received: (qmail 11211 invoked from network); 13 Apr 2004 15:40:32 -0000 Received: from headcheese.ximian.com (HELO lists.ximian.com) (130.57.169.17) by mrelay4-1.free.fr with SMTP; 13 Apr 2004 15:40:32 -0000 Received: from headcheese.ximian.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by lists.ximian.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 053951248D0; Tue, 13 Apr 2004 11:40:12 -0400 (EDT) Received: by lists.ximian.com (Postfix, from userid 38) id 6012A124037; Tue, 13 Apr 2004 11:39:35 -0400 (EDT) Received: from mail.gmx.net (pop.gmx.de [213.165.64.20]) by lists.ximian.com (Postfix) with SMTP id 68133124224 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tue, 13 Apr 2004 11:39:06 -0400 (EDT) Received: (qmail 30496 invoked by uid 65534); 13 Apr 2004 15:39:00 -0000 Received: from port-213-61-205-213.ham.dial.de.colt.net (EHLO port-213-61-205-213.ham.dial.de.colt.net) (213.61.205.213) by mail.gmx.net (mp011) with SMTP; 13 Apr 2004 17:39:00 +0200 X-Authenticated: #726810 Subject: Re: [Evolution] Setting Default Applications From: Andre Klapper <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Evolution Users <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="=-6YuG52wKzr+TTmWlYlge" Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Ximian Evolution 1.4.6 Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-BeenThere: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.13 Precedence: bulk List-Help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List-Post: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List-Subscribe: <http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution>, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List-Id: Evolution users mailing list. <evolution.lists.ximian.com> List-Unsubscribe: <http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution>, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List-Archive: <http://lists.ximian.com/archives/public/evolution/> Date: Tue, 13 Apr 2004 17:40:00 +0200 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.63 (2004-01-11) on awak.dyndns.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=1.0 required=5.0 tests=FROM_ENDS_IN_NUMS autolearn=no version=2.63 X-Spam-Level: X-Evolution-Source: imap://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ --=-6YuG52wKzr+TTmWlYlge Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Am Fr, den 09.04.2004 schrieb John Davis um 23:24: > Has anyone figured out how to set the default applications that > Evolution uses to open attachments such as an .doc or .xls file? This was a no > brainier on previous versions of KDE and Mandrake. hi, check if you have the right gnome mime-settings for doc and xls. easiest way would be to run gnome-control-center (evolution is a gnome-based application so it won't be interested in your kde settings) and change "file types and programs" under "advanced". go to "add file type", mime type should be e.g. "application/msword", extension e.g. "doc" and then add your program to run. (sorry, i don't know where this is saved so you could edit this without gnome-control-center...) hope this helps you, cheers, andre --=20 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | failed! http://www.iomc.de --=-6YuG52wKzr+TTmWlYlge Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: Dies ist ein digital signierter Nachrichtenteil -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBAfAkkUZw3dUr5LoARAuhEAKC/5izz54UfD7S7XpB/gZskdsYQ7gCg6irf Rt/qS2buNnS67FUn1zTx5xg= =qKU3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-6YuG52wKzr+TTmWlYlge-- _______________________________________________ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution _______________________________________________ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
