I noticed that evolution cannot filter on the category I've assigned to the sender (in hte contacts list). I would really like to see this soon.
I can't see it happening any time soon, since you can't filter on anything to do with contacts atm. File a bug report.
(Othewise, I do not see the point of categories in contacts..)
Its to filter/manipulate contacts. If you have more than a couple of dozen contacts it comes into play.
