I see it sometimes. Its like it forgets or ignores the last visited message.
There was a bug in <= 1.5.6 and perhaps in 1.5.7 to do with large folders which I fixed recently, which also causes similar weird things (and worse).
Please file a bug, although i don't how fixable it is since it isn't easy to reproduce or to know where to put in debug code for it.
