Just installed Evo from Red Carpet on a SUSE 9.1 box that previously had 1.5.7 installed. Now Evo won't start.
I'm having the same trouble. Evo will only start if logged in as root. There is a problem somewhere with file permissions that I can't find.
Had to uninstall evo-1.5 and downgrade back to evo-1.4
