I understand completely, and I'm sorry for the desperate nature of my post. I had been trying to be patient, but I'm working under massive deadlines and I can only go without a calendar for so long. I had deleted the "calendar" and "tasks" directories before with no results. However, I didn't know to stop gconfd with that command first. Thanks for this gem, as this time my problem was instantly resolved! Again, thanks for the help. I now have a properly working calendar and tasks subsystem again. I'll go close the bug now.
