Ahh, that's why it isn't obvious :-)  I don't use gnome, nor have used
for a VERY long time.  I'm an Xfce man, nowadays :-) so don't even think
about system-wide gnome settings.  

This highlights one of my pet peeves in the way that gnome-based apps
have moved more and more of the settings away from the individual app to
centralised management over the years.  Galeon is another gnome-based
app that is the backbone of my system, but it's settings have been
gutted over the years so hardly anything remains in the app itself :-(
