I suggest you only click on it once, you will have a much less crowded
screen.

Have you tried selecting the text, and then pasting it in the other
application?  It tends to work fine ... text is selected implictly
whenever it is selected, as per just about all other X11 applications.

Select view->hide deleted messages.
