Can you figure out, which mail program your dad is using? You should see an entry in the mail header of his mail. I have a Mac and if you like, I can send a JPEG image to your mailbox. I just sent a mail using Apple Mail 1.2 (for Mac OS X (Jaguar)) to my Evolution 1.1.2 (SuSE 7.3) and it worked fine - without any problems.
