Yeah, I encountered some strange behaviour like that too.

You can let Evo check every n minutes for new mail. That works for me.
Howevere, only IMAP Accounts seem to be checked for new mail on startup
(since Evo connects to the IMAP server) but not for POP3 Accounts.

If checked "every n minutes" Evo really should check for new Mail at
startup even on POP3 Accounts.

Anyone knows, if this is in the bugzilla wishlist? Should go there...
