You must do 'killev' first from a terminal on both machines as the wombat process (which holds the Contacts information) is running. This way the recent changes are synced to disk. After that a copy of the Contacts directory should do it.
First note: this should be in the FAQ? (is it?) Second note (to evo hackers): couldn't the wombat process sync to disk every now and then (say 15 minutes or user-configurable value or even on every change) so that you wouldn't have to do a killev before copying Contacts and Calendar files?
