Hi I also couldn't compose messages, it would cause Evolution to hang If I logged into my machine as root, i was able to sent mail, so I have been looking in my own config to see what was the problem.
After deleting the files with ~~ in the filename in the evolution folder / subfolders, I was able to sent mail....
