The TLS support in the new evolution is independent of how you
authenticate - the only bind method available in the betas and in 1.2 is
still simple.  It shouldn't take too much work (now that the
frontend/backend have an idea of an "auth method") to get sasl binding
working, but that'll get pushed back until after 1.4.
