This includes creation of middleware and internal api's. - Take functional and/or design specifications and transform them into high-quality, well-tested implementations - Work with other software developers to design and implement applications, using Java code, and enhancements as needed. - Maintain and enhance applications on an ongoing basis per user/customer feedback. - Ensure that code is unit tested per quality assurance requirements. - Collaborate as necessary to define and implement test cases and suites. - Optimize performance and scalability as necessary to meet business and financial goals of application and environment. *Essential Functions: * - Five to ten years of Java development experience for proprietary technologies in a fast-paced environment - Strong Java skills and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns, JSP and servlets. - Preferred experience with Tomcat, XML web services, session management, agile-style development, integrating with databases (preferably PostgreSQL/Oracle) and middle-tier application server architecture - Excellent object oriented software systems design skills and architectural skills - Prefer experience in high-transaction processing environment.
