Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree and 7+ years
Software Distribution. This position will assist in the requirements
gathering, evaluation, analysis, design, implementation, and support of
Wachovia's desktop operating system, deployment, and systems management
strategies. Responsibilities will include distributing software to all LOB
desktops using established processes and methodologies. The ideal candidate
for this position will have thorough knowledge of Software Distribution
Standards and Practices, QA/UAT testing, MSI Packaging, Microsoft Windows
internals, server and desktop operating systems and systems management
technologies and methodologies. The candidate must have strong
organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Skills Required: - In depth knowledge of O/S deployment and
management solutions (eg, SMS, Tivoli, Marimba, Altiris etc). -In depth
understandi!
ng of Application packaging. -Solid knowledge of enterprise change and
configuration management. -In depth understanding of user profiles and
user-level security. -An understanding of Windows Installer technology,
application packaging, authoring, and MSI editing such as Wise,
Installshield, and the SMS Installer. -Knowledge of Microsoft enterprise
services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and infrastructure
services such as DHCP and DNS. -In depth knowledge of Microsoft scripting
technologies and components - Shell, Kixtart, VBscript, WMI, ADSI, XML, etc.
-Excellent troubleshooting abilities. -Ability to quickly learn new
applications and new technologies. -Knowledge about thin client solutions
such as Microsoft Terminal Services, Citrix, Web Solution.
