Hi Prashant,

For changing path of file, the best way for you is to open both of your excel
files then select
'C:\Documents and
Settings\Sandeep\Desktop\[cm17AUG2009bhav.xls]cm17AUG2009bhav'!$B$2:$B$1256

with this keep selecting go to your data file and select the range you want .
All the things will automaticlly done.

Similarly you can do for the below link.

'C:\Documents and
Settings\Sandeep\Desktop\[cm17AUG2009bhav.xls]cm17AUG2009bhav'!$A$2:$K$1256

But be careful for rows means 2 to 1256 or anything you want, should be same in
both ranges.

        Hi Subu
Sorry I forgot to attach file.

Find the attach file which produce the result of VOOKUPIF ( ) function.
Be careful about the conditions for the formula if you want correct result.

          Dear Members

I have the source data on a spread sheet that is approx 10 columns by
1300 rows. Sample sp sheet cm17JUN2009bhav.xls is enclosed

I wish to Vlookup this to a result book called result book to
group.xls, also enclosed

On the result book, I wish to v lookup FROM the source sheet provided
some criteria is met in the source book, .for e.g. V lookup range should be
where the value in column B = EQ in the source book

To state it differently, I wish to V ollokup for values in column A
of result book, and fill with values only when column B in workbook
cm17JUN2009bhav.xls = BE

In the given sample I could give a formula
=VLOOKUP(A3,cm17JUN2009bhav.xls!$A$2:$K$235,6,FALSE), i.e manually restrict the
range to $A$2:$K$235 of source book

Is there a way to do this automatically by using a function ?

When I get the next source book, say CM18jun2009bhav.xls, I will get
a diff. range and hence my question

Any suggestions would be most appreciated

          Samples XL sheets are enclosed
