I have formatted a column in a spreadsheet as Text. With VBA i am writing a string variable into a cell of that column. The string variable happens to contain a number and i get the green triangle in the particular cell indicating that i am writing a number as text. However, it is formatted as a string variable. Testing the particular cell, if i put a number preceded by an apostrophe in that cell, also i get the error of writing number as text. What i want is to have a text string into that cell as text, even if it includes a number, can anyone help me out of this weird problem? cheers, JH
