thanks guys, is there any reason why the following isnt's working

a6 = sheet name
h6 = name of the criteria
**the criteria is a name "Phone"

all i get it 0

COUNTIF(INDIRECT("'"&A6&"'!g:g"),INDIRECT("'"&"h6"))
