Hi Rajan I think I was not clear enough my bad.
Basically, normal validation in excel works by limiting/controlling the inputs to a cell. Here on my P&L, I have my net profit line which I don't want to change and is liked to like a 100 sheets and comes through formula. One way of doing it is to lock the entire workbook for editing but in my case that is not feasible. So I was thinking maybe if some kind of validation control could be devised so as to prompt me whenever the net profit number changes.
