Number Of Positions - 1 6 months Job Type - Contract Job Description -**** Provides 24x7 production support for client server systems. Provide Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server Database Administration support to numerous systems on UNIX. Linux and Windows platforms. Participate in production support and implementation of databases, design and tune critical high volume OLTP databases, and contribute to database infrastructure enhancements. Oracle, Sybase, or SQL Server Database Administration. Java, Perl, and Shell Scripting Highly desired. Database and Server Performance and Tuning. Server Buildouts nice to have. SQL Coding. Strong Communication Skills Highly desired. 6-10 Years *SKILLS REQUIRED* 5 or more years of hands-on experience with MS SQL of various versions, including SQL 2005 and 2008. Responsible for activities involved in the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of enterprise, high-volume, transactional systems. Responsible for formulating and implementing the team's technical vision, providing hands-on insight into system architecture, data software development and architectural design. Establishdatabase management systems standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical data model capacity planning, external data interface specs, data loading, data maintenance plan and security policies. Collaborates with data modelers and facilitate interaction between DBAs and data modelers for logical and physical data models. Determine appropriateness of data storage, archive, purge and backup strategies. Database designing, database performance, management and tun ing experience. Enforce database standards and procedures. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to others on the team. Experience in database development field. Experience leading large multi-resource teams with interdependent initiatives to successful completion. Capable of working proficiently at both strategic and tactical aspects of a project. Ability to code complex programs and derive logical processes. Commanding knowledge of current industry database standards such as Web Services, Object Oriented Development, Collaborative development techniques as well as knowledge of Project management discipline within Information Technology field. Capable of communicating in both verbal and written form to the level of published. *SKILL PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED *Bachelor of Science Degree; preferable in Computer Science, MIS degree Strong database design and development experience for very large databaseapplications Experience with SSIS and SSRS Data Modeling experience (Logical/Physical) Experience on high transactional systems with 24/7 up times SQL Replication experience a plus Able to design, code, debug and maintain database schemas & store procedures Able to team up with software engineers and produce maintainable data interface layers within applications Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills Must be able to develop technical specification and documentation Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills Able to multi-task and manage multiple project/task assignments simultaneously Fast turnaround in delivering solutions Has knowl edge of and conforms to SDLC principles Experience with data modeling tool (ER/Studio) Preferred experience in a web application environment VB, C#, .NET experience a plus MS Certified SQL Developer a plus -- Are you =EXP(E:RT) or =NOT(EXP(E:RT)) in Excel?
