Assuming you have each ID of 6 characters, What you can do is; 1) In B2, =Left(A2,3) - this will separate your first 3 characters which are alphabetic. Drag the formula down
2) In C2, =right(A2,3) - this will separate your last 3 characters which are numeric. Drag the formula down. 3) Now short them with column B first & then C (High to Low) -you will get the maximum numbers on the first row of each series..
