Sure,the VBA version is DATEVALUE()the string must be in a valid date format
for your Windows version.
So, if when you enter a date in Excel, it is displayed as mm/dd/yyyy
format,then you need to "build" a string in this format.
like:Sub MakeDate()

If (Not IsDate(ActiveSheet.Cells(nRow, "A").Value)) Then
ActiveSheet.Cells(nRow, "B").Value = DateValue( _

To check: try changing cell format to short date, or General.if they look
different, then they are true "dates" and you simply have to change the date
format to what you want to see.
If they are NOT dates, then you need to use string functions to convert the
text value to a date value.
