The EHR Application Specialist will be responsible for the installation,
configuration, training, reporting, maintenance, and user support of our
EHR systems. They will work directly with the physician network team at our
clinics to provide system-level and workflow support for users in clinical
and billing applications. This position will provide critical assistance to
our clinical practices on physician reimbursement programs (Meaningful Use
and PQRS) and the use of reporting tools.



As a member of the Information Technology department, the EHR Application
Specialist is responsible for analyzing needs, developing changes and
enhancements, and maintaining Electronic Healthcare Systems (primarily
Nextgen) based on organizational requirements. This position will be
responsible for data analytics on the EHR, and will produce reports from
Nextgen as well as third party analytics packages and databases.



The position requires superior communication and interpersonal skills with
the ability to respond succinctly and efficiently to user requests. This
position will also support other software products and reporting
requirements as needed.



*Responsibilities*

·         *MUST have experience in Nextgen template development, and SQL
report writing. *

·         Responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning
of EHR systems.

·         Serves as a subject matter expert in Meaningful Use and PQRS as
it relates to usage of the EHR system.

·         Understands and analyzes clinic workflow. Recommends workflow
improvements and implements standardized workflow within the EHR and
associated electronic healthcare systems.

·         Works with internal and external stakeholders to install and
configure the EHR client software and assist in project tasks, including:
interface development, data conversion, building system components, testing
and documentation of interface specifications.

·         Develops and delivers trainings to effectively impact Healthcare
Systems adoption, use, and engagement amongst providers and line staff
users. Works with department leads to ensure uniformity in distribution of
technical training among staff performing similar functions.

·         Develops and maintains documentation, user manuals and
guidelines. Promotes the importance of proper use of applications and
software systems.

·         Creates and deploys feedback mechanisms for end users to identify
and address issues, additional requirements, and enhancement requests.

·         Produces scheduled and ad hoc reports from Nextgen, SQL, SSRS and
third party data analytics applications.

·         Provides timely and high quality technical support on EHR to
network administrators, clinical, operations and administrative staff.

·         Bachelor’s degree in an academic or scientific field related to
Information Systems or Technology preferred. Equivalent work experience or
college courses in lieu of the educational requirement may be considered.

·         Solid and proven experience working with diverse communities in a
non-profit or healthcare setting. Specific work experience (3-4 years) in
implementation of electronic health records systems and/or training of
providers and clinical staff support in these systems and other/or clinical
support functions.

·         Experience working with Federally Qualified Health Centers
(FQHC’s) and their specific patient populations is preferred.

·         Experience working with other applications like Televox, Ten
Eleven, Qualifacts, GE Business Centricity.
