*Duration: long term* BFSI Domain required The primary function of this position is to design, develop and deploy business intelligence solutions that leverage data warehouse, BI reporting and analytic solutions. The areas of focus will be the development of reports and dashboards. Main areas of responsibility: • Develop and maintain reports using Cognos 11 Report Studio • Develop and maintain dashboards and apply data visualization best practices • Define and document setup and configuration parameters • Define and follow Cognos development best practices • Design and implement reporting solution architecture • Design and implement analytic solutions • Create data models, table structures, and views to support reporting requirements • Create and maintain Framework Manager models and packages using best practices • Provide subject matter expertise in Cognos BI 11 solution architecture • Provide system support for the Cognos environment (Cognos Administration for both the development and production environments) • Manage report security, folder security, database row level security, report schedules and distribution • Coordinating with Software Testers and Release Management to integrate the final work product into the production environment by creating deployment files Qualifications, Skills and Experience: • 8 – 12 years of BI/DW and data architecture experience. • Familiarity with development methodologies • 5+ years’ experience and a deep technical knowledge with Cognos Report Studio • 3+ years’ experience and a technical knowledge with Cognos Administration • 3+ years’ experience with Event Studio • 3+ years’ experience with Analysis Studio • Experience with Cognos 11 Dynamic Cubes • Experience with Cognos 11 DQM • Experience using source control software such as TFS • Experience using defect tracking software such as VSTS • Strong PL/SQL development experience with the ability to write complex and nested SQL queries • Senior level skills in building Reports, Dashboards, Scorecards and Active Reports using IBM Cognos 11.x Competencies: • Experience working in a software development environment • Microsoft Sql Server 2012 and 2014 • Clear, logical, and effective verbal/written communication skills. • Clearly demonstrated sense of urgency and bias for action. • Ability to work well under pressure and independently. • Ability to forge strong working relationships at senior levels. • Ability to effectively negotiate with other teams to create a mutually beneficial solution • Ability to effectively direct the work of others. • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical material. • Takes ownership of problems and develops sound solutions. • Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are not readily defined and/or conflict with available information.
