That is exactly what I had to do for a client last week. They installed NAV
some time prior. I then tweaked their av to not check the m drive nor the
working dirs. They said it worked fine yesterday and now it won't work. Said
they rebooted and even tried to manually start the service but no worky. I
went there and read the error plain as day " Cannot find log file ..." Well
then right before that error was one from Norton saying that it had
quarentined that log file. Silly transaction logs and norton don't get along
well. That is why it is recommended to not scan exchange dirs.

Don't run file based av scanners against Exchange working directories.
Have you tried restoring the log file from the av quarantine location?

I'm having a bit of trouble locating a helpful KB and hoping you can
help.
The E00.log file was removed from my 2k system and the db's show dirty
shutdown. I know there is a way to recreate the logs using what you
have
(I have all the other logs -- E0001d30- 1d36). The last consistency
shows
at 7:47am and I have a log from 7:39am and three more from 8:02am (id33
and 1d34-36). Please help?
