This one was classic, that I just had to share. Conversation this morning went something like this:
Tech: I'm sure glad you were using Veritas BE instead of one of the other Veritas products. I know the BE and ArcServe products and am not very familiar with the others. Me: Gosh! You support ArcServe? I'm sorry...I hear from the Exchange list, that it's a real POS to use and support. Tech: We find that problems with ArcServe tend to be mostly hardware-related, not software-related. It's actually a fairly good product. Me: That's not what I've heard on the Exchange list...anyone I know on the list that has used it, refers to it as ARGHserve. They say it will back up your Exchange stores, but has a real problem restoring them. And as we all know, it doesn't do you any good to have good backups, if you can't restore them when you need to. Tech: (very tongue-in-cheek) Well...what do you want?! It's called Backup software, not restore software.
