I ran perfwiz this morning and mail flow is back to normal and 
searches are also working again :) However, i still have some
funnies going on with the users Outlook clients. Some tasks can
not be deleted and also some views have changed for there contacts,
and cannot be changed back? I guess with me taking out the transaction
logs yesterday and rebuilding them fresh will account for some of this.
I still have the old log files, but i don't really want to try to put
them back as very little was lost and what was, was not important. I just
hope all settles down now. I have also slapped the guy who put up norton
and ammeded it to exclude its real time scans from the exchange
directorys.

Still things are working again.
