No. In fact, you should probably get rid of your other connection
agreement. ADC is ONLY used to communicate between 5.5 and Active
Directory. It really has nothing at all to do with Exchange 2000 or
Exchange 2003. You also ought to check and see if you have an SRS out
there somewhere and get rid of it. If you don't have any more 5.5
boxen, and don't ever plan on having any, why not go Exchange native
mode?

Subject: RE: Two Exchange boxes not talking

Only to the extent the entire organization is a remnant of an original
5.5 site - there are no 5.5 servers existing. Curiously, though, the
2003 installation at one point made me enter the password for the
old-old service account. I realize the ADC is supposed to be a
non-issue, although my E2K server actually has one connection agreement.
Should I try installing an agreement on the E2K3 server?

Old server mail to everyone = good.
New server mail to everyone except mailboxes still on older server =
good New server to mailboxes on old server = bad.

The queues in the new server indicate it does not think the old server
exists.

I'm starting to think at this point I may just wait until the weekend,
then come in and move everyone over to the new server.

Why do you even have an ADC involved? Is one of these in a mixed
5.5/E2K site?

I'm slowly moving mailboxes from an old Ex2K server to a new Ex2K3
server, single subnet. The moves are going without incident; but this
morning I see that mailboxes on the new server seem unable to get
messages to boxes still on the old server. Both servers show up just
fine in Exchange Manager. Do I need to do some ADC work to resolve
that? I was anticipating moving all of them over the weekend, then
changing the DNS records.

Thanks for any help.

David
