Check to see if you maybe have some processes scheduled to run under the
admin account. Or if you installed any third-party software that runs as a
service and uses the admin account. Also don't leave any terminal server
sessions opened with this account logged on. That's because after you change
the password and if any of those conditions are true - the account will get
locked.

Win2k-SP4 domain, native mode 
Single Exchange2k-SP3 server

Exchange was originally installed using the domain admin account, not my
idea.  For internal reasons I now need to change the password on the domain
admin account and I'd like to know what, if anything, I have to do with
Exchange 2000.  I remember that changing the service account password in
Exchange 5.5 was something to be avoided if possible, what about Exch2k?
