You can restore it to the E2003 RSG as long as E2000 is at least SP3 and
both are in the same AG.
The swing method however may be your best bet.

Subject: Can an Exchange 2000 DB be restored to an Exchange 2003 server?

I have a remote office with a Windows 2000 / Exchange 200 server. I need to
upgrade this box to Windows 2003 / Exchange 2003. I will be adding disks and
re-carving the arrays, so obviously I will be doing a clean build. The
server name will be staying the same.

Question is, can I perform a backup of the existing Exchange 2000 stores
(using Backup Exec 8.6), rebuild the box, and then restore the Exchange data
after I get the box rebuilt and Exchange 2003 on it?

I guess that begs another question, what is the most efficient way to
accomplish what I need to do? There is only about 5 gig of data or so on
this particular server.

Thanks

Jason
