Sure it makes sense, and my assumption was that it was no different than
allowing the outside world to send email to a users mailbox, however I just
wanted to be sure there was not something I was missing since this is a
Public Folder and not a mailbox.

Thanks.

And to answer your question, the only thing that happens when you grant
anonymous Contributor privs is that you open that PF up to be able to
receive SPAM. It's not really a security issue, per se. If this PF has to
receive mail from the Internet, there really isn't any other way around it.

Setting the Default to Contributor is the same way, except this is how
people inside your Org will post to the PF. If Default is set to none, then
no one internally aside from those who have explicit rights to the PF will
be able to see or post to it. Does that make sense?

Am I doing this wrong? I never seem to get a reply? Are my questions too
ignorant, irrelevant, am I not allowed to play? If so, can anyone suggest a
list more on my caliber like Exchange-Dummies-101???

Seriously, I will happily post do a different list if that is preferred, I
read the list religiously to learn from all of you as I am new to
administering an Exchange 5.5 box, but if my posts are better off on another
list I don't mind posting there, I am just not aware of it.

Thanks.

April

Are there any security issues when you grant anonymous and default users
create privileges on Public folders in order to receive emails from outside
users?
