>From a colleague at another University: This is my understanding: It is doubtful that you will find specific documentation on the new scan engine functions. New scan engines are written to allow more flexibility/functionality for virus pattern file development, not to expand the actual features of ScanMail. All viruses have a minimum pattern file needed and a minimum scan engine needed to detect a virus. You must have both of these minimum requirements to successfully detect a particular virus. New ScanMail features would be made to the actual ScanMail product version which is currently 6.2 and has not been updated since September.
