Thank you very very much to everyone who provided
answers.

Fortunately, eseutil was able to defrag it enough for
me to get a mailbox out and then I was able to clean
out the big mailbox. I was concerned that there would
not be room for much in the way of defragging. 

This PowerTools looks like a possibly useful little
item for me for another issue so I am immensely
grateful for this response also.

With any luck this will be the last straw and they
will finally see they need to upgrade.
