I just tested it and it doesn't. I wonder why. It seems like it
should.

I think it won't work.

Although I haven't tried it yet I was thinking a custom search of

(distingushedName=CN=*,OU=myOU,DC=domain,DC=edu)

Should work. We use the extensionAttributes for quite a few other
things though so we've always used that. (I'm in a Hosted Exchange type
environment)

We're using a mixed environment of exch2k3 and exch2k. What I did is
create a recipient policy based on what server they are located on.
Looks like it worked like a charm. Thanks!!!

You would have to stamp another attribute, such as an Exchange extension
attribute, with something like the OU name, and then use it as the
filter for your recipient policy. Unfortunately, the OU isn't
searchable in AD.
This is something that could be scripted.

Subject: Default SMTP addresses

Hello all. I have a question about default smtp addresses. Is there a
way to assign your default smtp address based on the OU you are in or
based on the exchange server your mailbox is located on? We have a need
for one set of users to get email at

@student.westwood.edu

And another to get their mail at

@westwood.edu

Our AD structure is setup as a single domain/forest divided by multiple
OU's. We do have a separate physical exchange server for each address.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
