First off...all Exchange servers are Exchange 5.5, SP4 on Win2k, SP4. Using
OL2k, SP2 for a client. This is a long post, in order to include all info
and get the greatest number of responses.

Ok...I have a really weird problem and I'm totally baffled. Where do I
start? I'll start where I first noticed the problem.

1. I first noticed my problem on this list. February 26th @ approximately
11:46am, was the last e-mail I received from the list, when sending from my
Outlook client. I have been able to receive two additional posts to this
list, sent on my behalf from the web interface (3/11/2004 & 4/15/2004). I
get the responses to my posts (at least I think I do), so I know that
e-mails I send are making it to the list...I just never receive them.

2. Our corporate e-mail server is set up so that if someone sends me an
e-mail at my corporate account, the mail system sees the CR, rewrites the
headers and forwards it on to my e-mail account here. I can send e-mail
(HTML / RTF / Plain) from both my Charter account and my Yahoo! Account to
my corporate account and it always gets delivered...although it always gets
delivered in Plain Text format. If I send from those same accounts to the
local mailbox, it always shows up in whatever format I sent it in...so I'm
getting e-mail from outside.

3. I sent six e-mails to my Corporate e-mail account. Three were from
another internal account, in all three formats. The other three were from
my personal account, in all three formats. The only one of the six that got
delivered, was from the other account in Plain Text format.

4. Here's where it gets even weirder. I can monitor the "Inbound Awaiting
Delivery" queue from the Exchange Admin console and see all three messages
hit the queue. They all three show my Display Name as the originator...and
yet after about 30 seconds of sitting in this queue, they just vaporize. I
have no idea where they are going.

5. What have I done to troubleshoot to this point?

I have sent to my corporate address from every account I have, in every
format possible. The only ones to make it through are those sent in PTF and
not from my local account.

I have deleted ALL rules from my mailbox.

I don't have a .pst file setup in my profile.

The blocklist on the IMS contains no references to this domain, Corporate
domain or any of my accounts, internal or external. The only IP addys in
the blocklist are those of known and verified spammers.

I have checked the server logs of the IMS. I get this error:
Event Type: Information
Event Source: MSExchangeIS Private
Event Category: Transfer Out Of Gateway
Event ID: 2018
Date: 5/13/2004
Time: 12:33:21 PM
User: N/A
Computer: MAIL
Description:
The generation of a delivery report or a non-delivery report for gateway
/o=HANFORD/ou=ERC/cn=Configuration/cn=Connections/cn=Internet Mail Connector
(MAIL) has failed due to error 0x80004002.

I've Googled and searched the MSKB. Everything I can find points to either
a DLL/DLL registry setting or some interface...but I can't figure out which
one. Nothing seems to match up with my problem.

Nothing has been changed on this server, since SP4 was put on it...last
year?

So I know e-mail is going out, getting to Corporate, getting past our Linux
mail relayer to the IMS and then it disappears...I never receive an NDR
(which leads me to believe it's getting vaporized as a result of the
blocklist). I would like to turn up the Diagnostic Logging on the IMS, but
it only has ~350mb free and I don't want to crash it. Which category would
I crank up, to determine where mail is going after hitting the inbound
delivery queue? Message Transfer, SMTP Interface Events, or Internal
Processing...or all three?
