I have a user who can't open some mail items in her mailbox. The emails are from some time ago (Sept 2003), and when she tries to open the item, Outlook 2003 responds with "Can't open this item. The operation failed.". In OWA, the server returns a 501 - not implemented error on that same email. So I don't think it's a client problem... Other messages on the day, and on nearby days, work correctly, but there are a number that don't work. I'm unsure of what could be causing the problem.
The server is Ex2003, Client in OL2003, the workstation has NAV enterprise 8.0, the server has Norton AV 4.0 for Exchange, and the user is running the Cloudmark anti spam system. The mailbox was on a Eudora 4.0 system in the past, and was upgraded to OL2000/EX2000 before being upgraded to 2003. I would think it was an import error, except that not all messages have problems. The problems aren't limited to a single email address, and don't fit any pattern that I've seen so far. Any suggestions or ideas as to what this is, and how I can fix it?
