I administer an Administrative group of a Mixed Mode Organization (Exch
5.5 and Exch 2K) and have noticed that I must do all Public Folder
Maintenance (replication, client permissions etc) from the Exchange 5.5
Administrator.

If I try to change a public folders "Client Permissions" from the
Exchange System Manager I receive the following error:

You cannot open the client permissions page for this folder
because its content is not replicated to any public stores. ID c1038a5d

If I go to the replication tab and try to add a replication to another
server I receive the following error:

The connection was aborted, ensure that the settings on your
default web site are correct and refresh the public folder tree. ID
c103b402.

The second error has a KB related to SSL certs not matching the host
name which is true in our situation as the SSL matches the external
facing name not the internal name. I followed the KBs instructions to
remove encryption "Required" check box on the exchadmn virtual web and
it did not make any difference.

I can do any or all of the public folder maintenance from the Exchange
5.5 administrator on the replicas fine and it will propagate back to the
2K server. All of my public folders are homed on the Exchange 2K server
and replicated to the Exchange 5.5 server and I have verified our ADC
has a valid 2 way Public Folder connection.

Any Ideas? Or is this a problem we have to live with until we go
native?

Thanks in advance!
