Maybe you need a front-end? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Erick Thompson Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2004 3:11 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: ActiveSync and security
I've finally figured out what the issue was I was having with ActiveSync. The problem is, on the /Exchange virtual directory, I checked "Require SSL", which breaks OMA (see KB - 817379). Once I removed that requirement, it worked fine. However, I now have the Exchange virtual directory accepting non-encrypted traffic. If the various applications communicate only locally (e.g., from OMA -> /Exchange), then not having the traffic encrypted doesn't make any difference. Or, does the end client (OWA, or the PocketPC) directly communicate with the /Exchange vdir? If so, should I make sure it's encrypted? Is this a security problem? Thanks, Erick _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=&lang =english To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
