I shouldn't worry about the size of it. The edb and the stm files go
hand in hand with each other and are used in different ways with the stm
file used for storage of native internet content (such as MIME encoded
mail). Read

Subject: Priv.edb and priv.stm

Hello -

Exchange 2000
Windows 2000 member server
Nightly ArcServ Backup

I have a priv.edb that is 21Gb. I also have a priv.stm file that is
10Gb. Why is my priv.stm file so big? I have looked online to find the
answer but I am getting more confused.

Does this sound right or should I be doing a defrag? How do I decrease
the size of the .stm file? Should I worry about decreasing the .stm
file?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
