That is our exact configuration as well, I we have been saved when one
vendor is a little slower than the other. When I teach the A/V portion of
my class I strongly suggest that all sites split their A/V products between
platforms. I don't give bias toward any product, just give reasons why
multiple are better.

We have Trend on Ex2k and Symantec (Norton) corporate on all the
workstations via managed server and it works great. I'm of the minimally
useful opinion that in the world of AV, a split vendor setup adds safety and
a better nights sleep.

Subject: Anti Virus

I know, I know....Antivirus solutions have been hashed out a number of times
on this list. My question is a little different. We are looking to get rid
of Etrust Antivirus(computer associates) and go to something different
enterprise wide. We will probably go to Norton for the desktops, though
it's not official. Email doesn't have to be the same on the mail server as
for the remainder of the enterprise. Any reason to go Norton for email
instead of Trend? Trend worked great for us in a previous life and is
generally my first choice, but I've not had experience with Norton on
Exchange. We aren't planning to buy any of the rest of the suite for either
product, so other than getting separate signature updates there will be no
integration issues. Any thoughts?
