Four disks max? Is this IDE (gah!)? How many users are you supporting, and what's the expected mail volume?

The hardware raid I can put in the server (at present there is none) is dual channel - fine. However, the max amount of disks I can put in is 4. The server is a small business server 2k so is not a 'pure' exch server. I have files that will be accessed during the day/ it's the print server/ runs a database app (ACT) and also may be adding the SQL server component. I suppose I could have RAID 5 on one channel and a disk on the other but then that will mean the trans logs are on a stripe set or a non fault tolerant disk. Unless someone can think of a better solution, the way forward seems to be two sets of mirrors. I don't think I will be able to get another server unfortunately. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kevinm [CA] Sent: 24 May 2004 15:04 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Exch databases on a mirror set? I'm working on different configurations for my exch server and am limited on budget. I've put together an ideal solution but one of my cheaper solutions would be to have a couple of mirror sets. The IS would be on one mirror set and the trans logs on the other. Are there any issues about having the IS on a mirror set? thanks This email is confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual(s) to whom it is addressed.
