Exchange doesn't get it's updates from your Corp server. It will get it
from Symantec's LiveUpdate server. The reason that you notice that it
says it expires in 98 days is because it works based on your support
contract with Symantec. They apparently haven't incorporated that
feature into Symantec Corp edition yet, but I would expect it to be
added at some point. You should ge the same info from Symantec. The
Central quarantine from Corp ed. ONLY handles the desktop/server
file-based AV. It does not interface with the Exchange-based AV.

Subject: MAil security for Ex

Hi everyone,

I just finished installing symatnec mail sec for EX, something odd
though when I went to install the license file,

I followed the directions, and now when I open the console

it tells me that my virus definitions expire in 98 days, BUT I have
symantec CORP ED running on a different server ,

So i guess I want to know

A) why is this expiring in 98 days,

B) why is this server even concerned with virus definitions when It myu
other box that takes care of AV updates , and quarentines etc..

PS , still on hold with symantec 45 minutes and counting
