Solved, apparently -- what finally worked was to change the authentication method to windows integrated, apply that, then change back - then it worked. Now when trying just to log on with the user name, it rejects it and the logon box then wants to default to "servername.privateconsulting.com\user". That doesn't work either, but if I then change it to "domainname\user" that does work. I still have the default domain name in the authentication field on the security tab for the default domain, but something changed. What's the fix for that?
