I am trying to use a tool from PSS' ftp site called PFDavAdmin that is designed to allow fairly easy access to public folders for the purposes of correcting permissions etc.
The problem I'm having is that I can't successfully connect to my Public folder store on the server. Basically the UI asks for the name of the server, the credentials to use, and whether to connect to Public Folder, Mailbox, or Specific Mailbox. When I try to connect I receive the following error: * Start Error * An error occurred while trying to establish a connection to the exchange server. Be sure that port 80 can be reached. If you are connecting to public folders, be sure that the public store is mounted. If you are connecting to mailboxes and the progress bar shows a particular mailbox, be sure that the user has at least one email address. Exception: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. URL: http://myserver/ExAdmin/Admin/mydomain/public%20folders * End Error * I can access my public folders via web https://myserver/public with no problems (other than certificate warning me that my short name doesn't match the FQDN on the cert. I also receive problems when I try to access Public Folder Permissions via Exchange System Manager. My cert matches an externally visible address, but doesn't match the true FQDN of the server. I have followed MS' certname doesn't match ... Article but that doesn't help. Server is Exchange 2K Enterprise with all latest hotfixes and services packs, running on Windows 2000 Server. Our external domain is completely different from our internal domain so the cert matches the external domain which is where most of my web users hit it from, but not where I manage it from. I have verified that Webdav is installed and appears functional, but can't get off of dead center here. Any thoughts? I started trying to use the PFDavAdmin tools to see if I could work around the Exchange System Manager issue, but I assume that both issues are related.
