What if you make your system's recipient policy non-authoritative for datasynapse.com? I believe it would still take messages for datasynapse.com users that reside on your server but will use DNS or smart host to dispatch messages that are for datasynapse.com users that do not reside on your server. However you may have to mitigate some relay-like issues.
