Back at Credit Suisse First Boston a few years ago we implemented WorldTalk WorldSecure Server with the compliance piece that stores messages on a magneto-optical jukebox and indexes archived messages in SQL database (the entire messages would be stored in SQL database for a short period of time too for fast retrieval, then only indexes remain in SQL with message data in the jukebox). Then legal department reviewers could search the archives using a web interface for messages with specific offenses, and the questionnable content would be marked with color-coded flags.
WorldTalk is now owned by Tumbleweed, I think they still have that scanning and archiving product. Before WorldTalk we also evaluated Assentor but were not 100% happy with it, I am not sure why because someone else before me was testing Assentor. I imagine things have changed since then, that was 5 years ago. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Carmila Fresco Sent: Sunday, August 01, 2004 2:03 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: IMR Alchemy MailStore/Ilumin Assentor/Legato Mail Xtender and Mail Examiner Personally, I like KVS. However our compliance people need something that KVS does not do -- hold messages that have reached its retention limit but are pending litigation. Unfortunately, that feature is pretty high on their list. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Martin Tuip [MVP] Sent: Saturday, July 31, 2004 12:49 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Re: IMR Alchemy MailStore/Ilumin Assentor/Legato Mail Xtender and Mail Examiner I don't use either of these 3 .. but I can tell you lots more about the more better KVS software. -------------------------- Martin Tuip MVP Exchange Exchange 2000 List owner www.exchange-mail.org www.sharepointserver.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] -------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carmila Fresco" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, July 29, 2004 9:57 PM Subject: OT: IMR Alchemy MailStore/Ilumin Assentor/Legato Mail Xtender and Mail Examiner Is anyone here using either Alchemy MailStore (www.imrgold.com) or Ilumin Assentor (www.ilumin.com) or Legato's Mail Xtender with Mail Examiner (http://www.legato.com/products/emailxtender/emailxtender.cfm) for email compliance? We're currently looking at these 3 products and would love to hear comments regarding these (pro/cons or any comments at all!). We're looking at using the application to comply with the SEC 17-a4 regulation for SEC/NASD registered representatives.
