Why don't you add a rule to your firewall that says any IM traffic
originating inside going out, or outside coming in, is dropped? Internal IM
traffic is still valid, just not outside your company.

if a user has a .net account they could instant message with a user at
Yahoo, etc.??

Subject: Instant messaging

Hi Guys,

I am looking to implement instant messaging in house using our Exchange 2k
environment. One thing that I have not been able to figure out is that would
my internal user using exchange instant messaging be able to talk to
external users using Yahoo messenger, etc.??

Thanks
Davinder
